Already a few days into the SAYA exchange, Chinese students are adapting to life in the U.S. and enjoying the high school environment. Teacher and chaperone Ms. Einhe He said that she is impressed with the school and the courses available to the students. Between getting used to American food, sharing aspects of Chinese culture and visiting Boston landmarks, the students’ schedules are full of activities and learning about America.


In less than two weeks, 14 students will go to the U.S. as the first group to participate in the SAYA program. While in the U.S., the students will give presentations sharing various aspects of life and culture in China.
Ameson Foundation and Jinling High School Hexi Branch co-hosted a Christmas party on Christmas Day, 2009 to familiarize students with Western culture and also to celebrate the holiday season.
Last week saw an unforgettable journey for Ameson Foundation: Four American education experts were invited together with Professor Sean Zhang, Deputy Chairman of the Ameson to take an educational visit and participate in “International Forum on Educational Leadership and Equality” in Jinan and Hangzhou.

August 24 was the start of Ameson’s teacher orientation week where teachers new and old participated in workshops, seminars and even a little bit of socializing. With 11 new teachers joining Ameson across 7 schools in Jiangsu and Anhui Province, Ameson's presence in the education community continues to expand in China. In the view of Prof. Sean Zhang, the Deputy Chairman of the Ameson Foundation, “Ameson is pleased, with the quality of the educators we have arranged, for our 2009-2010 school year programs in Jiangsu and Anhui."
For the last two years, the Ameson Chinese Elite program has brought together 300 of China's best-performing high school students, where they would spend a week interacting with recruiting officers from some of the finest universities in the world. This year, although the event was canceled (due to swine flu concerns) a smaller version was quickly organized with appearances by officials from the University of Cambridge, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Oxford, and the University of Michigan.
