The Ameson Chinese Elite Identification Scheme (ACEIS) welcomed the University of Nottingham to join the program that helps world-leading universities identify top Chinese high school students.

In the first donation of its kind, the Ameson Education and Culture Exchange Foundation made a significant contribution to a Chinese language learning program in the U.S.. On November 11, 2009 the Ameson Foundation and China Zhigong party signed an agreement to co-donate the money to Stanford University’s School of Education to help fund the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) masters program in Mandarin.

On June 24, 2009, Chinese students who were selected by the Ameson Foundation arrived at Harvard University to start a two-month course at Harvard's Summer School program. This year is the second time that Harvard University and the Ameson Foundation have worked together to select Chinese students for Harvard's Summer School program.

In addition to the real college experience which prepares them for studying at top American universities in the future, students will also have opportunities to travel around the US for a week in order to learn more about culture and customs.

The Dean of the Indian Institute of Science and Industry and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia (UBC) visited China in June 2007 to collaborate with local education officials and discuss macro educational policies.

At the behest of the Education Office of Liaoning Province, the Ameson foundation invited Prof. Surendra Prasad (the Dean of the Indian Institute of Science and Industry) and Dr. Craig Evan Klafter (the Vice-Chancellor of UBC) to visit China.

During their visit, the two professors gave speeches at the Second Chancellors' Forum on Education in Shenyang (the capital of Liaoning province), and then embarked on a tour of relevant universities in the region after the forum.

The Ameson Foundation, in cooperation with the Chinese national Institute of Education and Scientific research, held a symposium titled ‘Fostering High School Characteristics’ was held in Beijing on March 23-24, 2009.

Foreign participants included educational specialists from around the world, representing the American Association for Education Reform; the Bill & Miranda Gates Foundation; Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia, and many other notables.

Among the Chinese specialists in attendance was: Ms. Chen Xiaoya, the Deputy Minister of Education; Tao Xiping, the adviser to National School Inspector and Vice-Chairman of The Chinese Society of Education; Mr. Dai Jiagan, Director of the National Education Examinations Authority.

According to the “Marco Polo” scheme of the Italian government, for those Chinese students who are pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Italy, once they are selected by this scheme, tuition fees can be waived.

With the authorization from the Italian government, the University for Foreigners Siena (Università per Stranieri di Siena) will be in charge of language training and final evaluation of the students selected. Ameson Foundation will work with the University for Foreigners Siena and plans to select 100 students for this scheme.

The application for Chinese students attending to the summer schools of Harvard University, University of Chicago and other leading universities has started. According to the Ameson Foundation, more than 500 Chinese students have consulted and applied for the programs so far despite a limited number of 200 places in 2009. Among the hundreds of applicants, about 90 students have met the selection criteria and passed the Ameson Scholastic Test (AST) .

The participating schools include Harvard University, University of Chicago, Columbia University and UC Berkeley. According to Mr. Zhou, project officer of the Harvard Summer School selection program of Ameson, the requirements for the summer school application were almost the same as the application for undergraduate programs at Harvard. Students are required to have TOEFL or AST scores, excellent English essay writing skills, reference letters, transcripts and other related materials. Students selected by the Ameson Foundation could earn eight academic credits at Harvard University.

On July 27, 2007, the Secretary General of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Mr. Li Yuanchao, met with Dr. Alan Bersin from Harvard University and Prof. Sean Zhang, Deputy Chairman of Ameson Foundation.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas to help increase collaborative development of Sino-American education and ultimately build relations between Harvard University and Jiangsu province.

Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Jiangsu Institute of Education and the Ameson Foundation created a new MA program in TESOL.

The program is designed by Ameson, Jiangsu Institute of Education and QUT, and it was created using the standards of English teaching in China. The courses will be taught by the Jiangsu Institute of Education and Nanjing Normal University in China.
