In 2008, more than 50 elite high school students from all over China passed the Ameson Foundation’s Screening program and then applied for the Foundation’s program ‘Summer University at Harvard University’. Of the 50 students, 16 were admitted to Harvard undergraduate programs.
Leading up to the screening, Ameson conducted an intricate promotional campaign, targeting high-achieving students from elite high schools throughout China. More than 50 high school students signed up, and 30 were selected to attend the screening test in Shanghai with 20 passing the test. All of the applicants were in the top 1% of students in their school.The test is used by Harvard to gauge students’ proficiency in English and to ensure that they would be able to handle the academic curriculum overseas.
The 16 students admitted to Harvard shared similar characteristics including excellent command of English, strong social ability and impressive academic excellence.
